Julie Bowen thinks three is the perfect number of children, and does not want any more. Both in real life and on the small screen in Modern Family, 41-year-old Bowen is a happily married mother of three. And while one flick of a pen can add a pregnancy plot line to her Emmy-winning TV show, the actress says that only a work of God is getting her pregnant again in real life.
"Immaculate conception is the only way another kid is coming out of me!" she jokes with Us Weekly. "I love my children, but no mas!"
In addition to her hectic shooting schedule, Bowen is currently busy looking for potential kindergartens for her 4-year-old son Oliver -- and finding the process a bit nerve-racking.
"I don't have a clue what I'm doing!" she says. "But I have to say, we're so fortunate -- you're choosing between gold and platinum. All these schools are amazing, so he'll be fine."
Bowen has two other sons, 2-year-old twins John and Gus, with her real-estate investing and software developing husband Scott Phillips. "I'm madly in love," she says of the twins. "I want to eat them alive they're so yummy right now."
And because she loves her kids so much, she says she's not going to get super-involved in their school lives like her on-screen alter ego would.
"I was class mom at the preschool one year and I was pretty much asked not to do that again!" she recalls. "I would set up meetings for all the moms in class and forget to show up -- not because I'm a dingbat, but because schedule changes. It turns out that's a full time job! I thought class mom made a phone call once a year. No, no, no! It's a daily job!"
