Justin Bieber wants to prove to the world that it's not his baby, baby, baby, oh! He submitted himself for a paternity test on Friday, and talked about the incident on a trip to The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday. The 17-year-old pop star calmly spoke about the procedure, though he did seem a little confused about its specifics. Watch below:
"They just swab your mouth," he answered when Letterman asked what taking a paternity test consisted of. When the talk-show host followed up and asked if he had to disrobe to take it, Bieber responded, "Uhh, I don't think so."
Regardless, Bieber admitted that he could "smell a weasel" when 20-year-old Mariah Yeater came out and said that her 4-month-old son Tristyn was the product of a 30-second encounter with Bieber. She claimed they'd had sex backstage during one of his Los Angeles shows a year ago. Text messages recently released by TMZ.com, in which she asked a friend to erase messages from her mother that said Tristyn is another man's son, told a different story.
In fact, Bieber has said he's never even met Yeater. And he clarified that he didn't want there to be any doubts about the situation reflected on him, which is why he was so quick to agree to take the paternity test.
"It's pretty crazy. People come up with false accusations," Bieber said. "I'm 17, but you know, it's going to happen. Being in the spotlight, people can say whatever."
