Justin Bieber Cancels TV Appearance After Stunt Goes Awry

A stunt gone terribly wrong caused Justin Bieber to cancel his appearance on a German television show.

During a live taping of a popular game show called  Wetten Dass ("Get It") on Saturday, a 23-year-old contestant named Samuel Koch was severely injured while attempting to jump over a moving car driven by his father, according to The Huffington Post.

US Weekly reports that Koch was supposed to jump over the car while wearing shoes equipped with a suspension system, but it malfunctioned. Koch, who suffered multiple back injuries and fractures, underwent surgery Sunday. Koch's condition is no longer listed as life threatening.

Bieber, who was set to appear on the same taping of Wetten Dass, took to his Twitter to alert German fans of his cancellation.

"Just want to let my people in Germany know I won't be on Wetten Dass tonight as an accident has taken place and we all don't think it is right to continue," the 16-year-old heartthrob twittered. "Please pray for Samuel Koch & his family as we wait and hope for his health and safety. I'm sorry we couldn't perform tonight but some things are more important than putting on a show."
