Looks like the baby-mama drama is officially over for Justin Bieber. After several weeks of speculation that he fathered Mariah Yeater's 3-month-old baby boy -- a claim he has vigorously denied -- the pop star can put all of the baby talk behind him.
According to TMZ, Yeater, 20, reportedly dismissed the paternity charges against Bieber, 17, late last week. She had previously insisted that he had sex with her backstage at one of his Los Angeles concerts in fall 2010. She even went so far as to release baby Tristyn's photos to the press.
"Look, just look at his mouth," Yeater, 20, told the Daily Mail. "I pray that Justin sees theses photos, looks at Tristyn and knows in his heart that this is his child and our child. It's going to be a nightmare for all of us if he keeps denying it... I just want what is right for our son. I feel terribly hurt that we have been abandoned and none of my calls to Justin were returned."
When Yeater started calling Bieber her baby's father and demanding he take a DNA test, the singer's reps quickly responded: "It's sad that someone would fabricate, malicious, defamatory AND demonstrably false claims. We WILL VIGOROUSLY PURSUE all available legal remedies to DEFEND AND protect Justin against THESE ALLEGATIONS."
Ultimately Bieber not only agreed to take the paternity test, but he also planned to countersue Yeater and her lawyers for the slanderous allegations.
According to TMZ, that bit of news caused Yeater's attorneys to withdraw from the case, and now the lawsuit is dismissed.
Bieber can now return to promoting his new Christmas album and spending time with girlfriend Selena Gomez.
