Justin Timberlake Debuts New Album Cover: How Does it Compare to His Others?

J.T. shared the cover for The 20/20 Experience via Twitter -- we pit his three solo album covers against each other and decide which is our favorite

Justin Timberlake is bringing sexy back to the music industry (finally) on March 19, when he debuts his new album, The 20/20 Experience. To help hype us for its release -- as if we needed any more hyping -- he's debuted the cover for the album via Twitter.

At first we felt like the cover was a bit busy, but we've steadily realized how much we love it. Of course, it's important to have some context when reviewing the album art. It not only is a clever design, but it also shows just how much J.T. has grown. To prove our point, we've decided to go back and rate all three of Timberlake's album covers for their creativity, hotness and relevance to his record's names on a 1 to 5 scale, 5 being the highest. Maybe you'll be convinced how awesome The 20/20 Experience's art is, too.

Creativity: 5
Hotness: 5
Relevance to Album Name: 5

So sue us, we're a little biased -- but seriously, we love this cover. The whole optometry element to emphasize the 20/20 title is really clever. If you couldn't tell already, Timberlake gets five hotness points without even trying, but it's nice that he relies on more than his looks here (even though he is giving us a peek of his chiseled jaw). Bonus points for rocking a tux, of course.

Justified
Album Release Date: Nov. 5, 2002
Album Hits: "Cry Me a River", "Like I Love You" and "Rock Your Body"

Creativity: 1
Hotness: 4
Relevance to Album Name: 3

We're sure Timberlake felt justified when he approved this debut solo album cover, but goodness it's so boring in retrospect. Fortunately he had his good looks to go on -- oh, and he gets extra hotness points for the beat-up leather jacket and perfect pout. Beyond that, Justified is pretty blasé.

FutureSex/LoveSounds
Album Release Date: Sept. 12, 2006
Album Hits: "SexyBack", "My Love" and "What Goes Around...Comes Around"

Creativity: 4
Hotness: 5
Relevance to album name: 0

Timberlake stepped it up a notch when it came to FutureSex/LoveSounds, and the album showed a much more stylized look that would carry over to The 20/20 Experience. But as much as we're suckers for Timberlake in a suit and tie, we wish there were a few more future sex and/or love sound references in the album art. We like the action shot, but it seems kind of random.

In our opinion, The 20/20 Experience is the clear winner, but everyone's entitled to their own stance, so let us know yours! As an added bonus, here is the track listing for The 20/20 Experience, which was also unveiled yesterday:

"Pusher Love Girl"
"Suit & Tie"
"Don’t Hold the Wall"
"Strawberry Bubblegum"
"Tunnel Vision"
"Spaceship Coupe"
"That Girl"
"Let the Groove Get In"
"Mirrors"
"Blue Ocean Floor"

Also, be sure to tune in to the Grammys on Sunday for J.T.'s first performance at the awards show in four years! Yup, we're counting down the seconds until then.
