Justin Timberlake was granted a restraining order against a 48-year-old woman who is being deemed an "obsessed and mentally unstable stalker."
According to court papers filed Friday, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge David Cunningham issued the order against Karen J. McNeil, just one day after she outsmarted JT's security team and got on to his property. It was the third time she's tried to get into his home. The fan then was taken into protective psychiatric custody by police for trespassing.
The woman — who reportedly spent a year in prison for violating a 1997 restraining order filed by Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose — had "become much more alarming and her motivation and obsession have become more ominous, intrusive and threatening," according to the filings. She left a letter characterized as "bizarre" during one attempt to get into Justin's home in June.
The judge ordered McNeil to stay 100 yards from Justin, his home and his car, and will decide at a Nov. 9 hearing if the restraining order should be extended for three years. Sounds like a good idea to us.
