The Big Bang Theory's Kaley Cuoco has spilled a pretty big secret about the behind-the-scenes action of her show. The perky blonde now reveals that she and costar Johnny Galecki were a real-life item for more than two years!
"It was such a huge part of my life and no one knew about it," Cuoco tells CBS Watch! Magazine. "It was a wonderful relationship but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together."
Unfortunately, Cuoco says she and Galecki, who play neighbors Penny and Leonard, split off-screen "before the holidays" last year. Yet the cast mates had the tough job of continuing to play out their onscreen love through the end of the Big Bang season in May.
But Cuoco says she and Galecki both took it in stride and avoided any awkwardness on the set.
"When you're dealing with two professionals who have been working since they were both 4 -- and who kept their lives extremely private -- we didn't want anything other than that."
In retrospect, the actress surmises that their desire to keep their relationship so quiet may be what led to its ultimate demise.
"We were so protective of ourselves and the show and didn't want anything to ruin that. But that also made it sad, too," Cuoco admitted. "That's not the kind of relationship I want -- I don't want to be hiding."
