The Outburst: At Sunday's VMAs, Kanye West stormed the stage during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech to show his support for Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies" video.

The Lesson: Don't get too big for your britches

I know it's an oldie, but being arrogant and thoughtless is a timeless no-no. He completely disregarded Taylor and rudely interrupted her "Moment." I would explain to my kids that jumping up on stage was egotistical, impulsive, and many other obnoxious adjectives. Sometimes people get so full of themselves, they lose sight of what is appropriate and inappropriate. Kanye has made three apologies thus far. These are not excuses, but they are attempts at amends. Dr. Michele Borba, author of The Big Book of Parenting Solutions, thinks we need to teach our children to appreciate when someone attempts to right a wrong. How mistakes are handled may be the biggest lesson.
