Kim Kardashian and Kanye West never met a camera they didn't like, so we're not surprised that they've invited a reality TV crew into their blossoming relationship. The rapper, who has been dating Kim for around two months, will almost certainly appear on the next season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians -- and if he's as entertaining on cable as he is on Twitter, then we're all in for a treat.
West, 34, attended his first big Kardashian family event (that we know of) when he accompanied Kim to her sister Kourtney's baby shower on Saturday. Naturally, since there were more than two Kardashians present, the camera crew was there. And E! News has confirmed that Kim wants Kanye on the show.
"I want to show my life," Kardashian, 31, told E!. "If we are having dinner and he does show up, I'm sure we're not going to go, 'Stop the cameras!'"
Even though they've been flaunting their PDA and perfectly accessorized outfits for the paparazzi, Kim and Kanye have yet to talk openly about their relationship. Will that change once he joins her reality TV world? Possibly not.
"My heart's a little more guarded," said Kim, who admits she's "embarrassed" by the fiasco of her brief televised marriage to Kris Humphries. "I showed so much of myself in the past."
She also assured the website that she's not going the Khloe & Lamar route, saying, "I'm not going to be taking a bubble bath or drinking champagne or on a sex swing... It's not going to be like that."
Wait a minute -- does this mean Kim Kardashian has actually established some boundaries between life and TV? How shocking! And emotionally healthy! And probably none too pleasing to her mother/manager, Kris Jenner. But we think Kim should have a life of her own when the cameras aren't rolling, and if that's a lesson she learned from her disastrous second marriage, then maybe it wasn't all in vain.
The seventh season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians premieres Sunday on E! Meanwhile, Kanye is reportedly writing a second rap about Kim (following April's "Theraflu [Way Too Cold]"). Sample lyric: "Even though I met you in the club in a tight dress/At first sight I could picture you in a white dress."
