While it seems like Kanye West's entire career has been marked by controversy after controversy, the rapper has always managed to somehow find his way out of sticky situations. But this time, he is facing some real consequences for his actions.
The rapper made headlines over the weekend after fighting with a camera man at Los Angeles International Airport. The news comes just a little over a week after the rapper went on an elaborate rant with another photographer, telling him, “I don't want to hear paparazzi talk to me. Or anybody I know. At all.”
While West has dodged the repercussions of incidents such as this before, the Yeezus rapper may not get off so easy this time. TMZ reports that the Los Angeles Police Department is investigating West as a felony suspect after officers interviewed the photographer and determined he suffered injuries during the attack. The case will be referred to the district attorney as a felony robbery because West attempted to take the paparazzo's camera.
This isn’t the first time the rapper has been involved in legal issues with the media. In 2008, West was booked on charges of felony vandalism after he broke a photographer’s camera. The LAPD later decided not to file felony charges and instead let him off with one count of misdemeanor vandalism, one count of grand theft and one count of battery. He was arrested again in 2008 for an altercation with a photographer outside a U.K. nightclub, but was later released “with no further action.”
Is this a case of three strikes and you're out? With the evidence TMZ has, he may not be able to escape this one. Watch the video for yourself here:
