The Karate Kid
Short Story:

After a career move lands him and his mother (Taraji P. Henson) in China, Dre Parker (Jaden Smith) struggles to adjust to the culture differences. But Dre finds a friend in the maintenance man -- and kung fu master! -- Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), who helps him win the respect of his classmates.

What They're Saying:
"The Karate Kid
is fun, and believable, on the most important level: It convinces us that Jaden Smith has what it takes to fight his way to the top." -Enterainment Weekly

"The original was one of its year's best movies. The new one lacks the perfect freshness of that one; there aren't many surprises, as it follows the 1984 version almost point by point. But here is a lovely and well-made film that stands on its own feet." -Chicago Sun-Times

Good for Kids?
Kids will love this tale of triumph and adore the kung fu action in this flick.

"No, the plan doesn’t completely 'come together.' But this A-Team is close enough for government work." -Orlando Sentinel

Good for Kids?
The A-Team is great for the action fans who love a good laugh; not so good for the under 13 crowd.

Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work
Short Story:

This documentary gives a behind-the-scenes look into the eventful life of the boundary-pushing comedian.

What They're Saying:
"This is a thoroughly exhilarating, thoroughly depressing portrait of the agony and ecstasy of celebrity." -New York Magazine

"She's a teller of hilarious gutbucket truths as surely as Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor ever were. Yet while they were consumed by their demons, Rivers is just the opposite. Letting her demons run wild is what saves her, every day." -Entertainment Weekly

Good for Kids?
As usual, Joan Rivers holds no punches; not even for the children.
