'Tis the season for Kardashians in formal wear! In a post on her blog Monday, Kim Kardashian unveiled the family's annual Christmas card photo, featuring all of the Kardashians and Jenners dramatically posed together. And this year's picture has a twist: Card recipients will get 3-D glasses to view Kris and Bruce's brood in three dimensions! (Is that supposed to be ironic? Somehow we doubt it.)
This year's photo features the 11 members of the extended family (including little Mason) dressed in elegant tuxedo-inspired ensembles. Of course, there were originally supposed to be an even dozen, including Kim's new-and-former husband Kris Humphries. In November, RadarOnline reported that Kim had already designed her own personal Christmas cards, based on her favorite wedding photos. That order, obviously, had to be canceled.
Big Christmas photo shoots are a Kardashian tradition going back to the '80s, when they involved significantly less airbrushing. Their photographer budget has also gone up substantially (was this one taken at Sears?). Nonetheless, there's something really charming and natural about those early Kardashian cards that's missing in the newer ones. Take last year's photo, which looked like it was shot at a couture funeral parlor. It's impressive that their photos look like spreads from Vanity Fair, but Christmas with the family is supposed to be fun! Maybe next year, they'll come to their senses and all wear Santa beards -- or at the very least, crack a smile.
