With just ten days until the premiere of Kate Plus 8 (a TLC series of specials, conceived after the demise of Jon & Kate Plus 8), nine of reality TV's most recognizable faces -- Kate Gosselin and her brood -- are appearing on the latest cover of People magazine.
In "Kate & The Kids: Their Lives Now," Gosselin, 35, talks about how she and her children are coping in 2010, since the divorce from her husband Jon Gosselin was finalized last year.
Gosselin calls 9-year-old twins Cara and Mady and 6-year-old sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Leah, Aaden, Collin and Joel "amazing, resilient, loving kids."
The Dancing with the Stars castoff -- who is also busy filming episodes for her own TLC series, Twist of Kate -- goes on to tell People that for her eight youngsters, bouncing between two parents (they recently met Papa Gosselin's latest girlfriend) hasn't been easy. "I feel bad that they are torn that way,"she admits.
She even describes a recent issue with daughter Cara. "(She) was upset with me because I forgot to sign them up for something at school," she says. "I said, 'Cara, I had a really rough year. This is a new year. You've got to give me that. Let's start over.' So I've really worked to keep my word with them."
But Gosselin insists that despite the marriage coming to an end, the family's current living situation is an improvement. "Home is more peaceful now," she says.
The single mom, who confesses that the topic of custody is still a point of contention with her ex-husband, went on to say she sees glimpses of "what a normal life might be," but acknowledges that she's not quite there yet.
