During Monday night's performance on Dancing With the Stars, judge Bruno Tonioli was not kind, describing Kate Gosselin's dancing as "catatonic." Now that the broadcast is behind her, the reality-TV mother of eight says she feels "depressed" because of all the criticism.
For this week's fox trot, Gosselin, 35, could only wrangle a score of 15 (out of 30) from the judges. She danced to Simple Minds' classic "Don't You (Forget About Me)" in the arms of professional partner Tony Dovolani -- whom Bruno said would've been better off choosing "a coat hanger" to dance with instead.
Despite her previous weak performances, Gosselin had been in high spirits before this week's episode. With her eight children visiting her in L.A., the hardworking mom told Entertainment Tonight it's "so good to have my chicks under my wings."
But Gosselin, who reportedly took her brood to Disneyland on Saturday, has reportedly been spending more time with her kids than in rehearsal (alhough who could fault any mother trying to earn a living on the road for that?).
Gosselin seemed to enjoy her Breakfast Club-inspired performance, telling ET, "I had fun." Dovolani, 36, agreed that he was having "fun -- up until the judges' part."
"It's starting to creep in a little bit," Gosselin said of all the harsh scrutiny. "Tonight, I was trying to hold back horrible emotions ... probably not on live TV should I be standing there crying in front of the judges. It's getting a little difficult. I'm depressed, sort of."
In addition to her less-than-stellar routines on DWTS and being away from her kids, the novice dancer is also preoccupied with a custody battle involving ex-husband Jon Gosselin. With so many stronger dancers in the running, is it finally time for Gosselin -- who will soon star on another TLC reality series, Twist of Kate -- to pack her bags and take her final bow in the ballroom?
