Kate Gosselin's stints in reality television, from Jon & Kate Plus 8 (now simply Kate Plus 8) to Dancing with the Stars, haven't exactly been award magnets. So what's with the news that Gosselin, 35, will be in attendance at the Emmy Awards later this month?
According to E!, Gosselin -- who is neither a nominee nor a presenter -- will reportedly appear at the beginning of the broadcast, presumably for a comedy bit with host Jimmy Fallon. Apparently, the opening segment will "include an all-too-familiar Kate Gosselin getting thisclose to some of today's biggest and brightest television stars."
That's right, Gosselin (who E! promises doesn't "take herself too seriously" in the appearance) will allegedly be featured rubbing shoulders with guests and nominees -- a long list that includes Jon Hamm, Julianna Margulies, and Alec Baldwin.
Of course, this won't be the last we see of Gosselin on our television sets anytime soon. The Kate Plus 8 star and her kids went camping with Sarah Palin in Alaska recently, to shoot scenes for TLC. In 2011, think this monumental meeting of the moms will be recognized by Emmy? We can't wait to find out!
The 2010 Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, Aug. 29 (8 p.m. EST) on NBC.
