2009 was quite a year for Kate Gosselin, who had to deal with her husband (and Jon & Kate Plus 8 costar) Jon Gosselin's hard-partying, paparazzi-baiting behavior while repeatedly taking the high road, remaining single for the sake of her eight children while her ex chased women ("I'm lonely but I'm very busy. Actually, I'm alright," she told Larry King in August. "My main concern is my kids… I don't want them to see or hear anything on TV that I didn't discuss with them.") As for romance, she told People in a recent cover story she’s "not going to rule it out. But it’s not my focus." Here's to all moms who step into single life with heads held high.
