Kate Gosselin is looking to add "recording artist" to her already-very colorful resume. The reality TV mom is reportedly interested in making a Christmas album, complete with eight of her very own back-up singers.
"Kate is pitching a CD of holiday songs sung by herself and all her children," a record executive tells PopEater's Rob Shuter. "She sees herself as a modern day Maria from The Sound of Music, except this time the family singers won't be the Von Trap family, they would be the Gosselins."
Gosselin has already shown off her (so-so) dancing moves as a contestant this year on ABC's Dancing With the Stars, and now the tabloid favorite is ready to, literally, get her voice heard on a CD filled with holiday carols.
"Don't be fooled," an insider said. "Kate sees herself as a brand. She knows her fifteen minutes are not going to last forever and wants to make the most of it. After all, it's Kate that's putting the food on the table for all those children." Good point, considering Jon Gosselin has been trying to jump-start his own career by....getting a giant tattoo.
Though Kate Gosselin and the kids have yet to be picked up by a record label, we have no doubt that some company will attempt to cash in on America's ongoing obsession with the supermom -- and will end up singing all the way to the bank.
