Kate Gosselin's got herself a new job, and it doesn't involve dancing, or counting her kids on family outings. According to E! Online, Gosselin's going to be a featured blogger for CouponCabin. She'll debut her first post -- about shopping for the holidays -- on November 22.
This decision may be puzzling to those who only know Gosselin from her acrimonious divorce and her glamorous (albeit physically awkward) turn on ABC's Dancing With the Stars. But long-time fans of TLC's Jon & Kate Plus 8 will no doubt remember the notorious episode when Jon bought a shower faucet…without a coupon. Kate freaked out, to say the least.
"This is annoying; beyond annoying!" she shouted. "I have stacks of coupons!" The hapless Jon muttered that he didn't know about the coupons. During her on-camera interview, she ranted that not using the coupon was like flushing $20 down the toilet.
Kate got a lot of grief from critics for blowing Jon's mistake out of proportion, but many cost-conscious moms agreed with her, and wrote letters telling her so.
And apparently, she feels as strongly as ever about it. "No matter how much money you have, it's just smart to use coupons," Gosselin told E! Online. "It's like free money in your pocket." Kate, who has been snapped by paparazzi while clutching coups, is set to contribute a post to the site every week -- in addition to holiday tips, she'll also be dishing advice on how to stretch a budget for a large family
Could Gosselin have finally found her calling? After all, she's writing about a subject she's passionate about, one that doesn't require her to leave her house and kids. Let's hope so, because frankly, a lot of people have become tired of seeing her on TV.
