The cast for Rob Marshall's flim adaptation of hit Broadway musical Nine is looking better and better.
Kate Hudson has just signed on for a leading role in the story about a famous film director Guido Contini, who must balance all the ladies in his life while making his latest movie. But how about this? Kate's role as Stephanie, American writer for Vogue, wasn't even in the original Broadway show. Rob created it especially with the star in mind.
"[Hudson's] revelatory skills as a singer and a dancer lead to the creation of the role," Rob said in a statement.
Kate is in very good company, as some big names are already connected to this film; Daniel Day Lewis will play Gudio, while Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard, Judi Dench and Sophia Loren are just a few of the ladies that will be singing and dancing alongside Kate.
The film is set to begin filming this October in London.
