Louis Dowler still wishes Kate Winslet was his leading lady. The British model and the Oscar winner broke up three months ago after a year-long romance, but Dowler clearly isn't over his former love.
"I don't think Kate behaved well, and it is still very raw for me," 35-year-old Dowler told the UK's Daily Mail. "I don’t want to go into details but it wasn’t a straightforward break-up."
Dowler and Winslet first stepped out together in August 2010, five months after she divorced director Sam Mendes (who is now dating actress Rebecca Hall).
Their relationship reportedly took a turn for the worse when Dowler and Winslet visited Richard Branson's private Caribbean island last summer, where she famously saved Branson's mother from a fire. But the beach holiday signaled the end of the duo, and Winslet is rumored to have hooked up with Branson's party-loving nephew Ned Rocknroll (formerly Abel Smith) on the trip.
"I'm a laid-back guy, so I am not walking around with a long face -- but I do still hold a torch for her," he said. "I was in love with her and you can't switch that off overnight. I'm not sure Kate treated me well."
The Burberry model certainly still nurses a soft spot for his ex.
"She met my parents and family," Dowler added. "I thought we were inseparable. I certainly haven’t found anyone else since."
