Most women worry about their partner cheating on them at some point -- especially if, like Katherine Heigl, they're married to a touring musician. But after four years of marriage to singer-songwriter Josh Kelley, the New Year's Eve star wonders if infidelity may not be the end of the world.
"Josh and I always said that cheating would be a deal breaker; there is no second chance," Heigl, 33, tells the U.K. edition of Cosmopolitan. "But I've seen friends and acquaintances go through it and they’ve found a way back to the relationship, and a way to forgive each other."
While Heigl admits it would "destroy" her if Kelley had an affair, she also says she would try to forgive a one-time mistake.
"Because look at the life we've built together. We have history, we have a child," explains the actress, who adopted daughter Naleigh, now 3, from South Korea in 2009.
We're sure that Heigl has had her own opportunities to fool around -- but she says that meaningless flings hold no temptation for her.
"I don't like (one-night stands)," says the former Grey's Anatomy star. "I've never met a single woman who has ever walked away from a one-night stand and been like, 'That was awesome! Oh, my god! Best ever!'"
It's statements like these that have given Heigl a reputation for being outspoken -- or "mouthy," as she puts it. But she doesn't mind standing out from other Hollywood actresses, since she she never felt like she fit in to begin with. That goes for both her attitude and her body, which she says carries 20 pounds that she's never been able to lose.
"(I) wanted to look like those girls with fantastically beautiful bodies like Jennifer Aniston or Jessica Alba, but I just couldn't lose the weight," Heigl admits. "It's only now that I realize how hard those girls work for their bodies, and what level of commitment they make to do that. I'm too lazy and I like food and I like my free time too much to spend it working out!"
