A judge has ruled that Michael Jackson's will is, indeed, valid. Which means that his mom, Katherine Jackson, will not be keeping the control she was temporarily granted last week when the family thought MJ didn't have a will.
Instead, per Michael's wishes, attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain will be executors of his estate. Lawyers for Katherine wanted Judge Mitchell Beckloff to delay the decision, to no avail.
On the contrary, Branca & McClain's lawyers are psyched.
"We believe Judge Beckloff made the correct decision. We intend to carry out the wishes Michael Jackson set forth. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jackson family this week in remembering Michael as a beloved father, son and brother, and as the world honors his remarkable legacy as an artist."
The next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 3.
