Comedian Kathy Griffin did not hold back from mocking former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin during her stand-up show in Anchorage on Friday night. Griffin even had Palin's nemeis, Levi Johnston -- father to her 19-year-old daughter Bristol Palin's baby -- escort her onto the stage! She's always been a performer who knows how to make an entrance!
Of course, this wasn't the first time Griffin, 49, and Johnston, 19, spent time together: the My Life on the D-List star brought the Playgirl cover model as her date to 2009's Teen Choice Awards and told Time magazine that she and Johnston share a real bond, saying, "I just have so much in common with Levi. We can talk for minutes."
According to PopEater, Griffin had actually invited the former vice-presidential candidate to attend her latest performance, and "showed up at Palin's home in nearby Wasilla to leave a note inviting (her)." To no one's surprise, Palin, 46, did not take up her offer.
When Griffin noticed that Palin likely wasn't in the crowd, she asked the audience to look out for anyone doing a pageant wave. The best-selling memoirist (2009's Official Book Club Selection) also joked about the news that Palin was in the process of pursuing her own reality show -- a prospect Griffin compared to a comedic "gift from God."
