Katie Couric: "I Don't Have to Dress Like a Man Anymore"

The former nightly news anchor says her style has changed since leaving her post

After Katie Couric left her post anchoring the nightly news earlier this year, there was one upside that she might not have anticipated. “I don’t have to dress like a man anymore,” the former CBS Evening News anchor tells iVillage at the Billboard Woman in Music luncheon in New York City. “It’s been really liberating. I can wear pretty sweaters and dresses, and not feel like I’m going to work at a bank.”

With suits no longer mandatory, have any favorite looks taken their place in her wardrobe? “Maybe a crisp white blouse and a pencil skirt. I always think that looks nice, and you can just throw it on,” says the luncheon's host, as honorees like Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj take their seats at the Crest 3D White-sponsored event.

“I’m obsessed with J.Crew’s silk blouses,” Couric adds. “You can just throw them on and they look good with everything and come in really pretty colors, so I’ve been wearing a lot of those this year.”
