Katie Holmes Lands First Post-Divorce Job -- on Broadway

With her divorce from Tom Cruise settled, the actress is headed back to the Great White Way this fall in the new play Dead Accounts

Now that her divorce from Tom Cruise has been settled, Katie Holmes is moving on... to Broadway! On Thursday, the 33-year-old actress announced that she'll be taking the stage this fall in the new play Dead Accounts.

In the dark comedy, written by Smash creator Theresa Rebeck, Holmes will play a woman who's reunited with her prodigal brother -- and questions his motives for returning home. According to the press release, the play "tackles the timely issues of corporate greed, small town values, and whether or not your family will always welcome you back... with no questions asked." Sounds juicy!

This won't be Holmes' first time on the New York stage. In 2008, she made her Broadway debut in a revival of Arthur Miller's drama All My Sons. She received generally positive (if not ecstatic) reviews, with one critic describing her performance as "breathtaking" and another saying that she added a "glint of glamour" to the show.

Of course, Katie taking a job on Broadway further confirms that she'll be calling New York City home for the foreseeable future. Earlier this week, the newly-single mom enrolled her daughter Suri in a prestigious Manhattan Catholic school. She's also reportedly signed a lease on a fancy downtown apartment building. Seems like Katie is settling in to her post-Tom life quite nicely.
