Katie Holmes to Play Jacqueline Kennedy in New Miniseries

Suri's mom is about to portray John-John's mom in a new History Channel project, costarring Greg Kinnear as JFK

Katie Holmes is about to take on the Kennedys. The actress has been cast as the late Jacqueline Kennedy in a new miniseries about the famous political dynasty, scheduled to air on the History Channel next year.

Mrs. Tom Cruise will star opposite Greg Kinnear, who will portray former President John F. Kennedy. Actors Tom Wilkinson (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and Barry Pepper round out the cast as Joe Kennedy, Sr., and Robert Kennedy.

The eight-hour miniseries will reportedly premiere in 2011.

Katie most recently flexed her acting chops during her Broadway debut in the 2008 revival of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons.
