WATCH: Katy Perry's Trippy 'E.T.' Video Channels Lady Gaga

The singer and collaborator Kanye West unveil a new vid that calls to mind Gaga's "Born This Way"

Katy Perry looks like she may be giving Lady Gaga a run for her money, at least when it comes to outrageous looks and ethereal music videos.

On Wednesday, Perry debuted the music video for her new single "E.T." -- a collaboration with rapper Kanye West -- on MTV.com... and it's definitely Gaga-esque. Check out the video below!

In the futuristic clip, an alien-like Perry hovers in space garbed in a floaty dress (flashes of "Born This Way"!) and rocking an elaborate headpiece that appears to be made of translucent ram horns and leaf-like objects -- or maybe they more closely resemble Cuisinart blades.

Different shots show Perry's eyes looking animalistic, changing colors from entirely brown to bright aqua, all with cat-like pupils, while her lids and lips sport shades of blue and pink.

Meanwhile her forehead is inked in tribal-looking prints and her hair undergoes transformations involving elaborate parts and gravity-defying braids while her nails are inches long and pointy.

The clip intersperses otherworldly images, such as Perry encountering a dusty robot lying in a pile of discarded tires, with more visceral scens of animal attacks and military bombings.

Perry told MTV in an interview that each look in the video took five to six hours in the makeup chair but -- phew! -- only 10 minutes to take off.

"E.T." is the fourth single off Perry's second album, Teenage Dream, following other smash hits "California Gurls," "Teenage Dream" and "Firework." The album was nominated for album of the year and best pop vocal album at this year's Grammy Awards.
