Katy Perry may have been named Maxim magazine's "First Lady of Hot," but even she needs a little bit of support to feel confident.
Dressed in a form-fitting semi-sheer Naeem Khan gown with a matching cape at UNICEF's annual Snowflake Ball in New York City on Nov. 27, Perry revealed how she felt a bit self-conscious about her appearance.
"I feel like my [fat] is sticking out so bad right now," she revealed to Us Weekly at the event, where she was joined by such celebrities as Selena Gomez, Kelly Ripa, Uma Thurman and Girls star Allison Williams to help raise funds for international children's relief programs.
"I almost always wear [Spanx], but not tonight, and I feel it pushing out, making me look fat," she added.
The "Part of Me" singer, 28, confessed that she doesn't work out as often as her body-hugging ensembles would make people think.
"I like to say I run on the elliptical for 30 minutes watching CNN, but I don't do it often enough," she added. "So I'm just like, 'Oh, I guess I'm not fitting into this Lanvin dress for these couple of months.'"
Regardless of whether she's wearing control undergarments or not, Perry seems to have one fan of her curves: John Mayer. According to a guest at Perry's star-studded birthday party last month, the two look "in their own world."
"She didn't even talk to her friends much. It was just her and John. She's obsessed with him."
