UPDATE: Looks like the people over at Sesame Street -- and a lot of angry parents! -- agreed with our opinions about Katy Perry's revealing outfit.

"We value our viewers' opinions and particularly those of parents," a spokesperson for the show said in a statement. "In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video … we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street."

The sexy singer responded via Twitter on Thursday: "Wow, looks like my play date with Elmo has been cut short! If you still wanna play see it at www.katyperry.com Tag you're it, Elmo!"

Katy Perry has a new guy in her life -- and he's cute, red and furry! The kooky singer is one of several celebrity guests set to appear in the upcoming 41st season of Sesame Street. Watch Perry and Elmo remake her hit "Hot and Cold" below!

We love how little the song has changed; after all, it was about opposites to begin with! But is it just us, or is she showing an awful lot of skin for Sesame Street? We're used to her revealing outfits, but it makes us a little uncomfortable when it looks like she's about to pop out of her dress in front of Elmo. (We noticed about halfway through the video that the top was being held up with skin-colored mesh, which did make us feel a teensy bit better.) Also, we can't help thinking that if Katy Perry did play dress-up, she'd probably come out of her closet wearing something much wackier, like a candy leotard or a tutu made of socks. Still -- anytime a celebrity sings with a Muppet, we're happy to watch!

Other big names dropping by Sesame Street this season include Oprah Winfrey (voicing a letter "O" who -- what else -- hosts a talk show), Jason Bateman, Wanda Sykes, Chris O'Donnell, Kara Dioguardi and Reverend Run. And then there's Colin Farrell talking to vegetables -- watch below!
