There's no question that Katy Perry and Russell Brand are head-over-heels in love. The couple's engagement was confirmed yesterday, and Perry is not afraid to dish about their relationship.
In a new Glamour cover story (an interview completed before Brand even proposed), the pop starlet gushes over her new love.
"I'm excited to find a partner who can just be my teammate," Perry says in the magazine's February issue. "When I find a partner who is my teammate... I’m not going to play by any rules, I’m just going to go with my heart. Why wait? I just wrote a song [that goes], 'They say it’s hard to meet your match, gotta find my other half so we can make a perfect shape.'"
Perry says when she first met her husband-to-be on the set of the film Get Him to the Greek, the chemistry was instant.
"I did a cameo with him," she says. "My scene called for me to make out with him. And on the way down the stairs after the scene, I was hopping like a bunny. I hop like a bunny when I’m happy -- I get a bit childlike."
Though the pair have only been dating since September, Perry says she's found what she's always been looking for. "There’s got to be respect," she says. "For me, that’s hard because it’s easy for me to steamroll guys. I need a man who tells me the party’s over, that it’s time to go home, because [we] have to work in the morning."
