Small-town girl Kellie Pickler is making it big in Hollywood! The country singer and American Idol alum is headed to Beverly Hills to make her television acting debut on an upcoming episode of The CW's 90210.
According to UsMagazine.com, Pickler, 25, will play Sally, the country-singing cousin of local cowboy Austin (Justin Deeley). She will perform her new single "Tough" during the episode.
"My zip code growing up was a long way from 90210, so it will definitely be acting," Pickler said in a statement Monday. "I'm really excited and a little bit nervous about it, but will be a fun and unique place to perform 'Tough.'"
But Pickler's not the only the singer making time with the kids of West Bev this season. Brandy has been tapped to play Marissa Jackson-Lewis, a charismatic young politician running for congress in California against Teddy’s (Trevor Donovan) conservative uncle.
"She’s a cross between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama,” notes a source close to the show. "She’s inspirational but with a drive to get the job done."
Marissa will hire Silver (Jessica Stroup) to create a video campaign to reach the youth vote.
Season 4 of 90210 premieres on Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. EST.
