After losing over 40 lbs., Kelly Osbourne is still getting used to seeing her new body in the mirror. Now, the reality star has decided to go one step further in the makeover process, and get the majority of her 15 tattoos removed.
In her weekly column for the British magazine Closer, Osbourne said that she came to the decision to get rid of the body art when makeup artists covered them up while filming her new movie Should've Been Romeo.
"I can't say I missed them!" she wrote. "I met with my dermatologist and I'll start the laser treatment as soon as I have time."
And she's well aware that the process will not be easy.
"It will take several months, and while I'm not looking forward to the pain, I've heard it hurts less than getting the tattoo," Osbourne wrote. "I hope so!"
But she's not getting rid of every piece of body art. Osbourne says there are a few tattoos that are close to her heart.
"Some still have a special meaning, like the matching ones my brother Jack and I have of each other's names," she says. "But now I feel like some were a mistake."
Last year, Osbourne told British talk show This Morning that getting inked was a way of getting back at parents Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne. "It was my way of self harming, because I really knew it would upset my mum and dad," she says. "I was miserable and I just went and got all these tattoos and I don't know why. One of them is a keyboard and I don't even know how to play a piano!"
But as she matured, Osbourne started to regret her ink.
"As you get older, you realize that you don't want to be defined by your tattoos, because that's not the type of person that I am," she says.
