Each week we pick one celeb who's done something to make us proud. This week we're loving Kelly Osbourne for cleaning up her act, getting healthy and opening up about her struggles.
Kelly today is a far cry from the foul-mouthed, drug-abusing teen she once was. Perhaps a product of her environment, she was seen on the reality show The Osbournes as a rough-around-the-edges bad girl, taking after her notorious rocker dad, Ozzy.
Through her late teens and early 20s, Kelly went through very public battles with both drug abuse and weight gain. But now, at age 25, she seems to have pulled it all together. She dazzled fans on Dancing with the Stars, when she debuted her new glam look and ladylike persona. She lost the competition, but she also lost her bad rap -- and some extra weight.
This week she's on the cover of US Weekly showing off her new svelte bod -- having lost 42 lbs. in all. She admits that dropping the weight was even harder than kicking her addictions to drugs and alcohol and that, sadly, she felt more criticized for her extra pounds than her substance abuse.
It was a rough ride, but the reality star is now clean and sober and healthier than ever. After sticking to exercise and portion control to slim down, she's never felt better. "I'm really proud to look in the mirror and not hate every single thing I see," she said.
