It's official: Kelly Ripa can do it all!
The multi-tasking star swears she's "not a supermom," but we have got to disagree. The co-host of Live with Regis and Kelly can not only juggle television, three kids and turning 40 -- but she also manages to keep the romance from fading in her marriage.
The Good Housekeeping cover girl talks candidly to the magazine about spending alone time with her husband of 14 years, soap actor Mark Consuelos. "Sometimes we'll put the kids to bed early and watch Jersey Shore on DVR," she says. "It can be that simple, just the two of us, alone, one day a week, for dinner and hijinks...a little bump and tickle. Woo-hoo! I'm 40. I can say that now."
Ripa and Consuelos eloped in Las Vegas in 1996 -- which she says she hopes her 9-year-old daughter Lola never does. And even after all this time together Ripa is still quite smitten with her hubby. "I think about my husband in the middle of the day because I love him and I can't wait to see him," she says. "He is my best friend. Nobody knows me the way he knows me. We've seen each other in an Avatar, 'I see you' way."
Ripa says that making time for her marriage is not only important to the two of them, but the entire family dynamic. "I think we're better parents because date night gives us something to look forward to," she explains. "A night where we're not saying, 'Put that down, stop touching her, don't spill that."
"I would love to grow old with my husband, and I hope I get to see my kids walk down the aisle and their kids walk down the aisle," she adds. "We'll always work hard to make sure those things happen."
