Most of us, at some point, have felt a bit of competitive tension with people in our lives, be they sisters or friends -- but imagine if you had to go toe-to-toe with Beyonce! That's what Kelly Rowland dealt with earlier this month when she and her former Destiny's Child bandmate released new tracks just days apart from one another.
Rowland, who was in the successful pop trio with Beyonce (Michelle Williams has also since gone solo), wants to dispel rumors of bad blood between the two over the fact that Beyonce released her single, "Why Don't You Love Me," soon after her Rowland dropped her new single, "Commander."
Rowland, 29, told HipHollywood.com, "We all came out at the same time and it really doesn't matter... I think there's room for everybody... There's B (Beyonce), there's Ciara putting something out and (Lady) GaGa putting something out, but because we started out together, people are going to say things like that." In fact, Rowland says she will "love (Beyonce) 'til our dying days and that's all that counts." Like other famous female colleagues who insist that the media is making up catfight scenarios, these friends certainly seem to be making nice. But can it be Rowland is really okay with her solo efforts being outshone, hoopla-wise, by Beyonce's? At least the ladies are refusing to engage in mudslinging, no matter how they may privately feel about the matter!
