Kelsey Grammer revealed on Saturday that girlfriend Kayte Walsh had suffered a miscarriage last month.
"We lost our unborn child about six weeks ago," Grammer and Walsh said in a statement to People magazine. "We would like to thank all of those who expressed kindness and concern but we needed a little time to heal, time to find some solace before we publicly acknowledged our loss."
The child would have been the first for Walsh, 29, and the fifth for Grammer, 55. The couple announced that they were expecting in August, shortly after Grammer filed for divorce from wife of 13 years and mother of his two younger children, Camille Donatacci Grammer (who's part of the cast of the new Bravo show The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). It is unknown how far along Walsh was in the pregnancy.
Earlier this month, another famous couple, Bill and Giuliana Rancic, revealed that they had suffered a miscarriage after eight weeks of pregnancy. Our hearts go out to these couples -- and we hope that, by publicly acknowledging the pain of miscarriage, they're helping everyday couples to deal with their own losses.
