Kendall Jenner was only 11 years old when Keeping Up With the Kardashians started in 2007, and being in the spotlight has become a way of life for her. But now, she's starting to get sick of all the attention (and gossip!) that comes with her family's name.
"The show brought us everything we have, and I realize that, but sometimes I just want to be left alone and be a normal kid for like five minutes," the 17-year-old model says in the May issue of Cosmopolitan. "That's tough when the paparazzi are chasing you."
So does that mean you won't see Kendall following in her sisters' footsteps and starring in her own E! spinoff? "That's not happening," she says. "Modeling is my number one priority -- one hundred percent."
While we totally respect Jenner's desire for privacy, we just don't see it happening any time soon. Sure, she can just stop appearing on her family's various reality shows, but being a model isn't exactly a profession that keeps you tucked away. Of course people are going to pay attention to her if she's walking a runway and appearing in billboard ads. And as long as her older sisters are having babies, hosting competition shows and oversharing about their personal lives, the Kardashian-Jenner clan is going to stay in the spotlight.
If Jenner really wants privacy, then she should do the exact opposite of what she's doing right now. She should shut down her public Twitter and Instagram accounts, stop doing magazine interviews and try to live a normal life. She could maybe even leave L.A. and go to college!
Of course, we doubt that Jenner actually wants to give up her fame. And if everyone did decide to just leave her alone, she'd probably be pretty sad. But we can't blame her for wanting to hide for a few minutes. (Just as long as she doesn't follow Lindsay Lohan's lead and hide under a deejay booth!)
