All's fair in love and ... puppies? The battle between Hugh Hefner and his almost-wife Crystal Harris continues to rage as the Playboy playmate is now calling for Hef to return their Cavalier King Charles spaniel puppy Charlie to her six months after their split.
As has been the case since the couple's much-publicized break-up in June (five days before their planned wedding day), Hefner's former girlfriends Kendra Wilkinson and Holly Madison have been quickly coming to Hefner's defense. Considering the fact that Harris, 25, had originally given Hefner, 86, back the puppy so she could keep her engagement ring and Bentley (a wedding present), Wilkinson and Madison think it's unfair for her to try to ask for all three.
"I'm sorry u have to go through this. That dog loves u so much," Wilkinson wrote to Hefner on Twitter. "She abandoned him n now she want him back. She's mean mean mean." According to Hefner, Wilkinson also gave him a call to share some words of encouragement.
Madison took her complaints straight to the source, and tweeted to Harris, "Why did you voluntarily give the dog to Hef (who loves him too) after u left, only to ask for him back a few months later?" And later, "Dogs shouldn't be yanked from homes on a whim. She needs to quit attention-seeking!...People should do what's best for the dog!"
Harris has been notably silent about the matter on Twitter.
When speaking to People magazine, Hefner said he's hopeful that he and Harris can work something out. "We both love the puppy," he said. "I told her if she wants to keep the ring and the Bentley, then maybe I can keep the puppy. I (hope) we will work it out."
