Khloe Kardashian May Be Exiting 'X Factor' -- Who Should Replace Her?

Reports say the star has been shown the door, so we offer our wish list to join co-host Mario Lopez

Looks like Khloe Kardashian Odom may be the latest celeb shown to the revolving door at The X Factor. In just two seasons, that finicky doorman, Simon Cowell, has invited in a slew of stars -- including judges Paula Abdul, Cheryl Cole and Britney Spears and host Steve Jones -- and then unceremoniously escorted them out again. Now, according to The New York Post, he's allegedly tossing half of his Season 2 co-hosting pair: "They are asking Mario [Lopez] to come back, but not Khloe,” an insider told the paper.

Granted, you'd have to be blind to have not seen this one coming. Khloe received scathing reviews for her hosting performance. "Lopez, host of Extra, performed like the pro he is," wrote Lynn Elber in The Washington Times. "Odom came across like the novice she is, shouting her lines despite the mic clutched in her hand and making awkward small talk with contestants and ... Simon Cowell."

Worth mentioning: We can understand why Khloe was hired in the first place. As even a casual viewer of any Kardashian series can tell you, she can be hilarious. But while guys like Lopez and Ryan Seacrest make it look easy, it actually takes a lot of experience to banter with co-hosts and contestants on live TV. Sure, Khloe's a big talker. But it's one thing to provide funny, unfiltered commentary, and quite another to manage witty repartee without saying anything inappropriate.

As for potential celebrities to take the vacant hosting spot, let's be real here: X Factor producers probably aren't keen on spending lots of money on another star's salary. (Giving Spears $15 million to judge last season didn't exactly work out in their favor; the show's ratings plummeted.) So we can cross off pros like Ellen DeGeneres as a potential new partner for Lopez.

Ditto Jenny McCarthy, who's hosted loads of shows since her TV debut on MTV's Singled Out, but is probably out of their price range. Of course, even if they wanted to pony up big bucks for her, she's now tied up with hosting her own VH1 talk show, The Jenny McCarthy Show. But another comedienne -- like, say, Kathy Griffin, might be worth considering! Now that Bravo has canceled her show, My Life on the D-List, she might have room in her schedule.

And if Griffin balks? X Factor producers would be smart to set their sights on someone who's at least already comfortable with Lopez. How about one of his Saved By the Bell costars? Screech (Dustin Diamond) hasn't been on TV in a while. (On the other hand, Screech wasn't exactly known for appropriate comments, either. ...) Too bad Tiffani Thiessen is already working for the USA network, on White Collar and Mark-Paul Gosselaar is starring on TNT's Franklin & Bash.  That leaves ... Elizabeth Berkley. And hey, look how cute she and Lopez are together!

So here's your answer, Mr. Cowell. And a little advice? Once you hire this one, try to be a little more patient this time.
