Curious kids tend to reach out and touch anything that catches their eye -- including your grandmother's long damask cloth in the dining room. All it takes is one good yank for dishes, glassware and hot food (and, oh the thought of it, candles) to come tumbling down. The fix is easy, though: Use placemats or a runner that doesn't hang off the edge of the table.
