Short Story: Frankie (Scoot McNairy), Russell (Ben Mendelsohn) and Johnny "Squirrel" Amato (Vincent Curatola) are dumb crooks. In Killing Them Softly, the three try to pull off the robbery of a high-stakes card game -- protected by the mob, no less. When the heist causes the local criminal economy to crumble, professional enforcer Jackie Cogan (Brad Pitt) is put in charge of tracking them down and setting things straight. It's like The Three Stooges, but with a lot more violence. Click here for the official movie site!
What They're Saying: "The film reflects a real, right-now hatred of women that is not retrograde so much as totally delusional, a side effect of a dangerously distorted worldview that itself might be the endgame of the 'total corporate mentality.'" --L.A. Weekly
Good for Kids? Brad Pitt is still swoon-worthy for viewers of all ages, but Killing Them Softly isn't a movie for young viewers. The film's R-rating warns for quite a bit, including violence and sexual references.
