Kim Kardashian Donates $50,000 to The Trevor Project

Kim Kardashian is giving back to a cause close to her heart. The reality-show star is donating $50,000 that she raised in September 2011 to The Trevor Project, a suicide-prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBT adolescents.

Kardashian, 31, raised the money during a visit to the New York financial firm of Cantor Fitzgerald, where she "worked" on the trading floor on the anniversary if 9/11, Us Weekly reports.

"The firm lost more than 600 employees in the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001 and on the 10th anniversary of the attacks, they donated all revenues from their trades to charities around the world," she wrote on her blog at the time. "I was honored to take part!"

The Kourtney and Kim Take New York star selected the Trevor Project to benefit from the amount she was pledged from Cantor Fitzgerald. The Trevor Project has many celebrity supporters, including Daniel Radcliffe, Adam Lambert, Anne Hathaway and several members of the Glee cast.

In addition to a hotline for suicide prevention, the organization offers Dear Trevor, an online question-and-answer forum, a Survival Kit for participating schools who want to help LGBT teens, and PSAs, among other projects.
