As if Kim Kardashian didn't take enough of a beating in the media in 2011, now there's this little newsflash: She has terrible manners. According to the National League of Junior Cotillions, an etiquette and social training organization, the 31-year-old socialite is the Most Ill-Mannered Person of 2011. So what did Kim do that was so offensive? Use the salad fork for her entree? Wear white after Labor Day?

Nope -- it was her over-publicized wedding (and subsequent 72-day marriage) that gave her the edge. The National Director of the NLJC states that Kardashian was granted the title "for making a private matter public and disrespecting the institution of marriage."

OK, perhaps she did do that. But does her wedding extravaganza really constitute bad manners? Kim didn't insult anybody, or dress inappropriately, or act rude on the big day. If anything, she was too accommodating to the video crew, photographers, sponsors and tabloid media that turned her marriage into a mini-circus. That may be bad taste -- but for worst manners of 2011, we'd probably put the belligerent Charlie Sheen or the immature Lindsay Lohan on top.

In addition to putting down the former Mrs. Humphries, the NLJC's list holds up 10 celebrities as the Best-Mannered People of 2011. Kate Middleton was awarded the No. 1 spot "for the poise and dignity with which she conducts herself in the public spotlight," while Justin Bieber came in second "for consistently showing courtesy to his fans" (not to mention his girlfriend!).

Paula Abdul gets a surprise spot at No. 3 "for her encouragement to aspiring entertainers" (i.e. for not being Simon Cowell). Also on the list: Emma Watson ("for the kindness extended to her Harry Potter fans"), Taylor Swift, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rogers, Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos, child singer Jackie Evancho, CNN anchor Erin Burnett and bowing Bronco Tim Tebow.

As for Kim Kardashian, Most Ill-Mannered isn't even the most insulting award she's gotten this year. Back in September -- before the divorce! -- she was named Most Annoying Celebrity of 2011 by a Parade magazine poll. Then again, she was also one of Barbara Walters's Most Fascinating People. Good or bad, all these awards mean the same thing: Kim Kardashian is getting lots of attention. There's the silver lining!
