Kim Kardashian can't seem to shake a bad case of the exes. More than a year after she filed for divorce from her husband of only 72 days, Kris Humphries, the 32-year-old reality star still hasn’t been able to officially split herself from her former beau.
Humphries has been dragging out their divorce proceedings because he wants an annulment, and is basing the trial on claims of fraud. He asserts that Kardashian "had no intent of being married" and that it was all "for the benefit of her TV show," Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Still, Kardashian has apparently had enough of Humphries' shenanigans, and she's calling for the trial to be done once and for all.
"These delays are forcing her to be married. She wants to dissolve her marriage so she can move on with her life. I don't think [Kris] has a case, it's a fishing expedition," her attorney Laura Wasser told a Los Angeles Superior Court judge according to People. Wasser later added, "We want a trial because that's the only way this will end. There was no fraud."
On the other side of the courtroom, Humphries' attorney Marshall Waller said, "All she has to do is agree to an annulment [based on fraud]."
If the case isn't settled outside of the court room, it is set to go in front of a judge on Feb. 15 to determine when a trial might begin. That's a sweet Valentine's Day gift from Humphries to Kardashian and her current boyfriend Kanye West, who -- according to TMZ -- has already been deposed in the case.
In our humble opinion, this has gone on too long. It's Hollywood -- can't we cash in on the beauty of an expensive, but quickie divorce? If Humphries won't listen to Kim, maybe he'll listen to us.
Kris, it's time to move on...please!
