"Nothing is off-limits."
So says Ryan Seacrest in the promo clip for Ryan Seacrest With the Kardashians: An E! News Presentation (E!, Sunday, 9 p.m. ET). Watch here:
While the clip itself doesn't offer many details about what the interview will cover, Kim Kardashian's ex, Kris Humphries, had his suspicions. He thought that the tell-all was Kardashian's attempt to limit negative publicity. Apparently, lots of unwelcome tidbits could have emerged about Kardashian and her show, which begins its eighth season on June 2, if their divorce case had gone to trial. Luckily for Kardashian, she received her divorce settlement on April 19.
“Kim [would have been] forced to testify under oath that scenes of the reality show, including a conversation she had with her mom about the breakdown of her marriage to Kris, took place after she had filed for divorce,” a source tells RadarOnline.com.
Here's why: Kardashian wanted a quick divorce, while Humphries was seeking a legal annulment that would have stricken their marriage from the books entirely. Humphries said Kardashian committed fraud by marrying him solely to boost ratings for her show. She countered that she actually loved him. When her reality show chronicled her falling for Humphries, she says it was indeed depicting reality.
Only Kim and her family know the truth, which is why Seacrest's comment in the promo (that "nothing is off-limits") is so titillating. Will the American Idol host unveil what really happened off-camera? Considering that Seacrest is also the producer of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, seems he'd be partial to the "it was all true" stance, doesn't it? But if the show is documenting their real lives, how would Kardashian explain the scenes filmed out of sequence?
Perhaps not surprisingly, a source told HollywoodLife.com that the interview won't be providing the answers to these obvious questions.
At least viewers will hear Kardashian's thoughts on being pregnant out of (sort of) wedlock. Watch this teaser below:
Sounds like Kardashian's determined to keep the emphasis on her show's ongoing storyline: detailing her pregnancy and new life with her beau and baby daddy, Kanye West. As for whether or not the show is staged, even the most ardent fans must have at least an inkling that this isn't a straightforward documentary. And guess what? They don't care!
