Kirstie Alley may have had two rough weeks in a row on Dancing with the Stars, but the actress has nothing but wonderful things to say about her experience on the show, so far.
"It's actually been cathartic for me, because I felt like I was broken for a while (before the show)," Alley, 60, tells Oprah Winfrey in a new interview airing Thursday.
Alley, who has publicly struggled with her weight, has already slimmed down by sweating it out on the dance floor. But Alley says she hopes to lose another 30-40 pounds before the season is over!
"It's given me confidence back," she says of the show. "So it's been amazing."
Her partner, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, says working with the candid actress has made his seventh season on the show his most memorable yet.
"I've never had a star of this caliber before," the sexy dancer, 31, told Winfrey. "All my partners were amazing, but this is a whole new side of Dancing with the Stars I've never experienced."
Whether or not these two take home the mirror ball trophy, Alley is walking away with plenty. With her renewed confidence and better-than-ever bod, she says she has some new career aspirations.
"I would like to dance in a movie. I'd like to be able to say 'cut' and do it again!" she told UsMagazine.com after Tuesday's show. "I want to do Broadway. It's one of the big reasons I'm doing this. Even though I keep forgetting that."
