Kirstie Alley celebrated her 61st birthday with a special gift. The Dancing with the Stars veteran, who turns 61 on Jan. 12, received a permanent present from talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres: a brand-new tattoo!
In the Jan. 6 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the comedian tries to convince Alley to ink an "E and a D" in her honor, but the actress opts for a more personal selection: "A 'T' and an 'L' for my son True and my daughter Lilly," Alley explains.
DeGeneres set up a tattoo station backstage for Alley, complete with renowned L.A. Ink artist Dan Smith to create the tattoo right then. Smith then inked the script initials just above the underside of the Alley's wrist.
Along with the new tattoo, Alley tells DeGeneres that she's open to finding love again but would appreciate it if her friends stopped trying to set her up all the time.
"I told [my friends] to back off," Alley said. "I will choose my own guy to go out with and I [tend to] choose psychos, players."
In response, DeGeneres encourages Alley, who lost 100 lbs. last year, to try dating someone opposite from her usual "type." For Alley, that means going out with "butt-ugly" men.
"I'm thinking ugly men might be the solution, Ellen, seriously," Alley jokes. "Because I go for really handsome men and I think butt ugly would be appreciative. If you're ugly give me a call!"
