The Pretend Pickup Kiss
Have you ever fantasized about flirting with someone tall, dark, handsome...and new? If you want to rekindle the spine-tingling moment when you first met your man, take a tip from When a Man Loves a Woman and act out a pretend pickup scene sure to please.
Here's how: In the opening scene of the movie, Meg Ryan is sitting alone at the counter of a busy diner during the regular weekday lunch rush. As the man next to her leans in and tries to strike up a conversation, Ryan's husband, played by Andy Garcia, walks in.
Intrigued by seeing another man flirting with his wife, Garcia sits down on the other side of her and tries to get her attention, too. Whether you're the one picking up your man or just following his lead, be as flirty, hard to get and as sexy as possible. Ryan is coy when Garcia throws out his classic line, "I'm a pilot," and plays along when he asks, "What are you doing after this? I thought you could pick up my laundry." To the lunch crowd, Garcia's moves are shocking and mysterious (which is half the fun), but Ryan plays along. He moves closer to her and explains that she should drop off the laundry at his place and he'll be home after midnight to thank her properly. At this point, the original suitor tries to interject, but Ryan waves him off. That's when Garcia goes in for the "kill".
He mentions something dear to the foundation of their relationship, and Ryan is all his. This could be a favorite TV show, "your song" or anything else that's special to you as a couple. Even though it sounds insubstantial to the lunching onlookers, the words "carrot cake" melt Ryan's heart -- and seal the pickup deal.
Without missing a beat, she smiles, stands up, and while sustaining eye contact, climbs right onto Garcia's lap! The entire crowd gasps with delight as she leans in and kisses him.
