Kitty Cakes Recipe

Turn Twinkies and Ho Hos into Ginger Cats and Tom Cats. The number of kittens will depend on the age of your child. Set their tails alight and have the birthday girl or boy blow them out and make a wish.

  • 1 package chocolate Drizzlers
  • 9 Yodels or Ho Hos
  • 9 Twinkies
  • Tubes white and black Writing Icing
  • White rolled fondant icing
  • Mini M&Ms
  • Black Writing Icing
  • Non Pareil covered chocolate drops
  • Red licorice laces
  • Birthday Candles

Melt the Drizzlers in the microwave. Use them to make stripes on six of the Twinkies. Make stripes on 6 of the Yodels using white Writing Icing or melted white chocolate Drizzlers.

Cut one third off each end of the un-iced Twinkies and Yodels to make 12 heads for the cats. Cut circles from the white fondant for the cat's eyes (you can use the top of the Writing Icing as a guide and cut around it with a sharp knife or use the open end of a piping nozzle ) and stick on all the features using little blobs of Writing Icing.. Add mini M&M's or fruit imperials for the eyes and draw a vertical line down the center using black Writing Icing. Cut the chocolate drops into quarters for the ears and add pink fruit Imperials for the noses and red licorice for the whiskers.

Use melted Drizzlers as 'glue' to attach the cats heads onto their bodies. Hold in place until set. Add Birthday candles for tails.
