Drama Follows the Kardashians Off-Camera, Too: Kourtney Hit with Paternity Suit

A model claims he is the father of the reality star's 3-year-old son, Mason

This week in Kardashian crisis control: While Kourtney has been hanging with family in Miami (and chronicling her beach time, shopping trips and date nights with Scott Disick on her Celebuzz blog), her lawyer, Shawn Holley, is dealing with a paternity lawsuit recently filed against her in Los Angeles.

Yep: Somebody's alleging that 3-year-old Mason isn't Disick's son. The plaintiff is Michael Girgenti, a male model Kardashian met during a photoshoot in 2008, according to TMZ.

Girgenti claims the pair slept together the following year, and when he counted the months between their encounter and Mason's birth… well, it all added up to his current hunch: He's Mason's dad. Girgenti wants DNA tests. And in the court documents, he's filed for joint custody.

Whether or not this is true, it could provide a riveting dramatic arc for the next season of Keeping up with the Kardashians. Could this be the storyline-boosting event of 2014? (You know, like Kim's whirlwind marriage and divorce from basketball player Kris Humphries in 2011?)

This family really does seem to reel from one crisis to another! Their life's so turbulent, you'd think drama-hungry TV producers must follow them around all day, figuring out ways to manufacture conflict. Or, more likely, being a Kardashian has made the family the target of every aspiring con artist they've ever met.
